It’s been an unusually hot winter across the United States. Don’t get me wrong, I love that I don’t have to shovel snow and can wear short sleeves year round. Another thing I love about warm weather is that it lets us enjoy the great outdoors. But what happens when you’re stuck in the office for 8, 10, 12 or even 16 hours a day?

Why not bring the great outdoors to your office? No, I’m not talking about just adding a plant or two to your decor, but instead, creating an outdoor space for you or your employees to enjoy. At Alliance Corporate Services, we don’t just sell indoor office furniture, we can help you create an outdoor space that will impress both you and your clients.

If you have a small patio, balcony or porch available and bringing the outdoors to your office sounds doable, here are some things you might want to consider during your planning phase:

  • SPACE – Many valuable outdoor spaces go unnoticed until they are staged as a place to gather, eat, or relax. Traditionally outdoor spaces have been barren with no furniture, a place where smokers huddle to sneak a cigarette during their breaks. But now, many employers are starting to see the value of an outdoor seating area. The trend is real and that’s why we started to sell outdoor office furniture. First things first, you give us the dimensions and what you envision, and we’ll make sure the furniture you choose is right for the space. Whether it’s a couch, a lounge chair, a table or some stools with a high top, we’ve got a lot of options. You can check them out on our web page.
  • TYPE OF BUSINESS – Knowing the type of business you’re in is key in decorating your outdoor space. It used to be that traditional businesses, like law or doctor’s offices, avoided outdoor spaces, but now, I have seen both industries use these spaces to hold patient or client seminars or to have informal meetings with clients. If you decorate the space just right, it can be an inviting part of your office and one clients or patients will look forward to returning to.

  • COLOR – Most outdoor patio furniture has a brown or rattan colored look, but remember, accessorizing with colorful pillows or chairs can be a good idea. Seating cushions come in every color of the rainbow and there are even outdoor stackable chairs and tables that come in a variety of bright colors. Think about your color scheme and if you don’t have an eye for color, it’s okay, we’ll help you with that.
  • COMFORT – Just because patio furniture lives outside year round, doesn’t mean it has to be uncomfortable. The material used in outdoor seating is built with comfort in mind. From round sofas to lounge chairs, your outdoor space can be functional and comfortable. Plus, you can add waterproof cushions for both style and comfort.
