The last time you shopped around for new office furniture, you were probably choosing from an array of pieces built from various materials: wood, leather, fabric, glass, acrylic, and metal, too. So which works best?
There are multiple factors to consider when purchasing office furniture. For most of my clients, the most important factors to consider when selecting office furniture are: comfort, aesthetics, and, of course, durability.
Comfort: When it comes to office furniture, comfort equals productivity. The best way to ensure you’re investing in comfortable pieces is by selecting ergonomic ones. Features such as armchairs with contoured seats, lumbar backrest supports and adjustable desks can help minimize the strain of long workdays.
Durability: Selecting materials is important when evaluating the utility and durability of office furniture. In the past, most office chairs were covered in leather. With time, we’ve learned that’s not an ideal fabric in warm weather; no one wants to be perspiring at the office in their leather chair! Newer, more warm weather-friendly material such as mesh has proven to be just as durable. Another long-lasting material is wood veneer. Wood veneer furniture is both durable and attractive.
Aesthetics: When selecting office furniture, it’s important to keep in mind that you’re outfitting a space that should make people feel welcomed and inspired. How a business furnishes its work space can define the company culture and help its employees thrive.
At Alliance Corporate Services, it’s our priority to learn about your needs and how your company operates. This enables us to advise you on the best type of furniture for your environment. You’ll enjoy and appreciate the Alliance difference, and we promise, there’s nothing frightening about that!
